Postpartum Depression (Outpatient)

After childbirth, levels of hormones that are active in the mother’s central nervous system decline rapidly. It is thought that this rapid decline may play a role in triggering postpartum depression in some women. An investigative medication, mimics the action of one of these hormones and may help alleviate the symptoms of depression. The purpose of the ongoing clinical trials is to test whether the investigational medication can be used to treat PPD.
